Western Michigan: Day 2, Part 1

Day 2 dawned a beautiful day in Grand Rapids.  Have I mentioned I love the fall in Michigan.  It was so beautiful up there.  I got a chance to take some great photos this day.  I have to do the blog post about this day in two parts because my afternoon was so incredibly awesome it deserves it’s own post!  My darling friend Vanessa came with me on this day and our first stop was a park on the north side of town that didn’t exist while I was in college.  Vanessa and her husband had her engagement photos done there, and it was beautiful in the photos so I knew it would be a good choice.  The foliage was so beautiful and it was the perfect temperature to walk around and just enjoy the day.

I miss tall trees.

See, beautiful day.

Our next stop is Rockford, Michigan which is one of those cute little small towns, the quintessential America type.  They had a record breaking pumpkin on display at the park by the river.  It was huge.  I wish I had a small child with me to sit next to it so you could see how huge it was.

Next, we went to Robinette’s, which is this cute little cider mill.  It’s a little on the corny side, but oh, the cider.  I LOVE apple cider.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it.  Cold, warmed, mulled, however you spin it, as long as it is genuine, I am a happy, happy girl.  We picked up cider and apples to make a really delicious pie.  Robinette’s has it’s own orchard so I snapped a few photos.

They also had peppers growing in their garden.  A little random, but still pretty.

So that was my morning in Western Michigan, but I can’t wait for the next post.  My afternoon was so amazing!!!  I promise, it’s coming soon.
