Project 365: 363/365

Day 363 (1 of 1)

Project 365: 363/365 Dotty wishes you a Happy New Year

Well, somewhere along the way I seemed to have missed two days.  My counting seems to be off, becuase I know I took photos everyday, so I’m going to have to do a little research and find out what I missed.  In the meantime, this will be the last project 365 post for a while, and possible forever.  I didn’t accomplish quite as much as I wanted to accomplish photography-wise but I think I did improve.  This year I really want to work on improving my editing skills, so I’m going to try to focus on that.

Day 362 (1 of 1) Day 362 (part 2) (1 of 1)

Project 365: 362/365 Birthday Quilt

I finally finished it!  I finished my birthday quilt.  You may remember that at my birthday party I had my friends write me messages onto patchwork squares.  I also took photos from the photobooth at my party and incorporated them into the quilt.  Well, I finally finished it.  It’s huge and I love it!  I’ve been using it to keep me warm since it’s become so cold here.  The front and back are both pictured here.  I used Elizabeth Hartman’s Small Plates design.

Day 361 (1 of 1)

Project 365: 361/365 Dad’s New Apron

For Christmas, I made my dad an apron.  My dad loves to grill, but he has a tendency to be messy when cooking/grilling.  My mom suggested that I make him an apron for Christmas.  So on Black Friday we headed to the fabric store to see what we could find.  We found the dark blue vinyl you see pictured above.  It’s a tablecloth like material in that the back is soft.  We then found the cotton print to match it and I bought red double fold bias tape to edge it.  The width was 60 inches, so I turned that 60 inches into the length and then made the width about 24 inches.  I then narrowed the top and used the cotton print as the ties.  I wound up having enough material left over to make and identical one for my brother, who just got a grill for his birthday.

Day 359 (1 of 1)

Project 365: 359/365 Arm Warmers

I finished them!  I’ve been working on these for a while now.  In fact, I had basically completed the left arm and then tore it out because it was too long.  I finished them this morning though and I’m very happy with them, despite all my mistakes.  I followed this pattern that I found on Ravelry.  I made one major change of continuing the ribbing on the back instead of the flat knit only stitch.  You might notice one is longer than the other and the pattern is repeated one more time on the longer one.  Oops.  I’m still happy.

Day 358 (1 of 1)

Project 365: 358/365 Warm by the Fire

It got cold!  Seriously cold here in Texas.  Below freezing kinda cold.  Now if you live in some of the northern most states you might be thinking that’s not that cold.  Well here in Texas, where it had been a high 75 degrees the day before, below freezing is downright frigid.  Seriously frigid.  It even snowed in some parts of Texas.  Not the part I live in.  But we did have a fire.  My parents have a lovely wood burning fire place in their home and my dad kept us warm with this lovely fire all day.

Day 356 (1 of 1)

Project 365: 356/365 Christmas Eve Dominoes

You may have noticed I skipped a day.  I took a picture on 355, but I’m having software issues.  Apparently I need some very serious updates, which I’m working on.

Moving on to Christmas Even Dominoes.  Dominoes on Christmas Eve are a long standing tradition.  We have family friends we’ve known upwards of 15 years and we have hung out with them on Christmas Eve for the past 11 our of 12 years.  Their youngest son’s birthday is on Christmas Eve, so we always celebrate his birthday.  And we play dominoes.  It’s a great tradition with some really great people.

Day 354 (1 of 1)

Project 365: 354/365 Happy Birthday Eva!

Eva had an ugly sweater party in order to celebrate her birthday this year.  We started out the evening at P.Terry’s for some burgers and then made our way over to Peter Pan Putt Putt Golf for an evening of mini-golf and a game of wizard sticks.
